The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident over the weekend on 170, one mile west of K-18.

A 2009 Ford Focus, driven by Sharaya Bearman (21) of Topeka, was travelling west on I-70 near mile post 302 when it crashed into the rear bumper of a 2012 Kia Optima, driven by Taniesha (37) Ray of Junction City.

The accident occurred when the Focus failed to slow down for emergency vehicles.

Both Bearman and Ray were transported to Geary County Community Hospital with unknown injuries.

The KHP reports that both drivers were wearing seat belts.
