ABC/Image Group LA When Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush surprised the world last November by appearing together on the CMA Awards, it was the first step toward a full-fledged Sugarland reunion. Now, a major tour and their new album, Bigger, are both on the way.

Just like the pair’s new single says, Jennifer and Kristian are “Still the Same,” but some things have changed. Jennifer is now mom to her five-year-old son Magnus, while Kristian’s kids are teenagers.

“You know, it’s different,” he explains. “My daughter’s in seventh grade. My son’s a sophomore in high school. So he felt our CMA moment.”

“And I couldn’t tell him, so I had to call him the next day. And he was like, ‘Oh, I saw!'” Kristian laughs. “And I was like, ‘Is everything okay?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, but just my social collateral just went way up, in the hall. Like people are saying hello to me that never said hi to me before in school.’ And I was like, ‘Way to go buddy!'”

“And I’m thinking my babysitting roster just got filled out,” Jennifer jokes.

Kristian admits his daughter is less impressed by the Sugarland reunion — at least for now.

“My daughter, she’s funny…” Kristian says. “[She whispered], ‘You know Dad, we don’t care. None of my friends care. It’s totally fine.’ And I was like, ‘Uh-huh. Tick tock.'”

Sugarland sets their tour in motion May 4 in Durant, Oklahoma, ahead of the release of Bigger on June 8.
