Kansas State University Police are investigating a theft from an on-campus money dispenser.

Police several $20 and $10 bills totaling less than $200 were taken sometime between Dec. 26 and Dec. 31. Police are currently working on a suspect description and reviewing surveillance images to find the party or parties responsible. According to Det. Ryan Runyan all the bills will be yellow in color due to having cleaning and disinfectant fluid soaked on the paper currency. KSU Police is requesting if you know of anyone that is attempting to or has circulated clean smelling yellow fresh bills to contact them at 785-532-6412.

Police say it is entirely possible the suspect(s) may attempt to wash the bills, in which case the fresh, uncirculated bills may appear faded, as if having been washed many times over to get rid of the yellow discolor.

It is unclear what dispenser the bills were stolen from. Police plan to release more information as their investigation continues.
