A line of voters stretches out the door at the First United Methodist Church in Wamego.

According to Pottawatomie County election official Nancy McCarter, turnouts in Pottawatomie County have been large throughout the early hours of voting.

As of 9:45 a.m. approximately 2,100 votes have already been cast across all polling locations in the county.

This comes in addition to a record number of advance voters. As of Friday, McCarter reported 1,946 advanced or walk-in ballots cast in Pottawatomie County, a number that likely grew larger before election day.

That number is nearly three times the amount of advance ballots cast before the 2012 election.
