As most residents know, Kimball Avenue has been closed north of K-State’s campus since last year.

One cause for these closures is the current construction within the planned Edge Collaboration District, in the North Campus Corridor. K-State President Dr. Richard Linton explains the eventual changes that this project will bring to that area once completed.

Kimball Ave. has been realigned and widened between North Manhattan and Denison Avenues to allow smoother access from Tuttle Creek Blvd into the corridor. That included removal of the overhead cattle bridge that crossed Kimball Ave. near the Flint Hills Place apartments. President Linton says completion of the overall project, which will take several more years, will help highlight some great aspects of K-State and its campus.

The Edge project is ongoing, but city officials say Kimball Avenue will reopen Thursday.
