This past 9/11 weekend, nine members from the Manhattan Fire Department (MFD) climbed 110 floors while wearing their fire fighting gear for the Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in remembrance of the events that occurred 9/11/2001. A total of 343 Firefighters climbed 110 floors to honor of the 343 Fire Department New York (FDNY) Firefighters that died on 9/11/2001 while rescuing people from the World Trade Center Towers. Members of the MFD have participated in this event each year since it began back in 2011. “No day shall erase you from the memory of time.” -9/11 Memorial NYC
Participating locally were Micah Hydeman, Jacob Kirkland , Andy Rombeck, Louie Disney, Kyle Voth, Cole Minton, Tyler Reese, Bruce Cubie, Kyle Highberger.
