CMALuke Bryan stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday to perform his new single, “Kick the Dust Up.”  During his chat with Ellen, Luke opened up about life at the Bryan house since his 13-year-old nephew, Til, came to live with them last year. Til’s father died suddenly last November, and his mother, Luke’s sister Kelly, passed away in 2007. Luke credits his wife, Caroline, for being able to juggle Til’s hectic schedule with activities of their two sons, seven-year-old Bo and three-year-old Tate.

Luke told Ellen, “My wife is just running around. It’s baseball, getting them to baseball.”

Caroline and Luke are very happy to have Til join them in Nashville, but the country superstar admits it gets tricky raising a 13-year-old boy.

“You can kind of control a seven-year-old a little bit,” Luke says. “You’re not fooling a 13-year-old.”

Til has two older sisters who are on the dating scene, so Luke is also taking time to meet the guys they’re seeing to make sure they’re good enough for his nieces.

Says Luke, “I’ve gotta do the whole ‘scare whoever the boys [are] that they’re talking to’ [thing]. I have to play that role, too.”

Luke also went head-to-head with five-year-old presidential history expert Macey Hensley to play a trivia game on U.S. history and country music. Video of the game, called Know Your Country, is now live at EllenTV.com.

“Kick the Dust Up” is the lead single from Luke’s new studio album, Kill the Lights, due out August 7.
