“Deja vu” is the way Manhattan Finance Director Bernie Hayen describes the latest sales tax numbers released Tuesday. The April sales tax receipts indicate $838,056 collected in Manhattan, compared to $845,877 last year at this same time. However the April figures are still above the same time frame two years prior to that. $779,560 was collected in April of 2013 and $806,747 in 2014.
The negative budget impact for the month is $17,887, and $81,576 less for the total budget so far this year.
