RCA Nashville Just like she does in “Locomotive,” Miranda Lambert continues to rock on “Mess with My Head,” the latest preview track from her forthcoming album.

She admits at least part of the reason why is that she’s been spending time in the Big Apple with her new husband, NYC cop Brendan McLoughlin.

“‘Mess with My Head’ is a departure from anything that I’ve done before,” Miranda points out. “It has a real rock edge. Part of that comes from my co-writers, Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby, and the other part of that comes from spending time in New York City.”

“Being there has put a new energy into my music and my writing,” she adds.

You can also spot a sassier side of Miranda on the artwork for the song: It shows her lying on the floor on an animal-print rug, wearing a gold bustier with fishnet stockings and fringed suede boots.

You can stream or download “Mess with My Head” now. It follows “Locomotive” and Miranda’s latest single, “It All Comes Out in the Wash.” All three are from her new album, which she’s teased will be out in the fall.
