A law enforcement chase that apparently originated in Rossville and ended in Manhattan led to two injuries, one arrest, and blockage of Fort Riley Boulevard for at least an hour Tuesday afternoon. 26 year old Robert McGinley of Lees Summit Missouri and 35 year old David Hober of Manhattan were both taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan following the accident, reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. at South Sixth Street and Fort Riley Boulevard.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, McGinley was westbound on K-18  fleeing from Rossville Police in a 2009 Lexus when the vehicle went left of center and traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes, colliding with a 2002 Chevrolet passenger car driven by Hober.
The Riley County Police arrest report early Wednesday morning indicates McGinley faces eight possible charges, including aggravated battery, fleeing and eluding, second conviction DUI, and several drug-related charges. No bond is listed on the report.
Riley County Police reported traffic issues with Fort Riley Boulevard at the time of the accident, with traffic being diverted at Juliette and Fourth Street, and motorists advised to avoid the area for about an hour.
