The Manhattan Public Library board has approved a 2027 budget with an increase of nearly 8%.

At its most recent meeting, the board passed a hike from $3.43 million in 2026 to $3.69 million for 2027, which is an increase of $260,000 or 7.59%.

The biggest line-item changes are an additional $50,000 for personnel and $85,000 more for materials than the previous year. Maintenance was another area of significant increase.
