Mercury Nashville This week, newcomer Travis Denning is one of the many artists who’s having the time of his life playing Luke Bryan‘s Crash My Playa fan getaway vacation in the Caribbean.

Even though the “David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs” hitmaker is excited about his sweet gig, he admits he’s a little nervous, given Luke’s reputation for giving folks like Dustin Lynch a good-natured hard time.

“I don’t know. I don’t know what to expect,” Travis tells ABC Radio. “I mean, it’s Luke Bryan for crying out loud. He does crazy stuff. He kinda pokes fun at people like me and the young’uns and all that.”

“So I think it’s just drink tequila, try and drink water, and just have fun.”

Today’s the day Travis squeezes in a little work — but he’s got a strategy for that.

“We’re actually playing an earlier show at the pool, and then we’re playing later at night on the stage,” he explains. “And I’m like, okay, I’ve got to make it to the stage show. I can’t just blow it out at the pool party.”

“So I’m thinking maybe like three tequilas at the pool, take a break,” he continues. “Then after the show, just go for it. I’ve got a plan.”

“I will probably break that plan,” he laughs, “but it’s nice to know that I showed up with a plan.”

Travis’s new single continues his drinking theme. It’s titled “After a Few.”
