RCA NashvilleOld Dominion marks a career milestone of sorts with their latest hit, “Make It Sweet”: It’s one of the few times the five-man-band has used their own photo on the cover of one of their albums or singles.

“That’s one of the first times,” lead singer Matthew Ramsey agrees, as the band laughs. “Well, but we’re not looking at the camera.”

“We’re still getting mistaken as the Brothers Osborne,” Trevor Rosen jokes, “so we’re trying to just do anything we can to…”

“Get the message out there that it’s us,” Matthew interjects. “There’s more of us!”

The band’s major label debut, Meat & Candy, features a rock-inspired picture of a female model with — you guessed it — meat and candy, while the front of their sophomore album, Happy Endings, is a needlework print.

While the CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year hasn’t revealed what the cover of their third record will look like, they’re anxious for fans to hear more new music.

“We can’t wait to get it done,” Trevor tells ABC Radio. “We’ve recorded all the songs, but we just have to still finish ’em up and stuff. I think we all feel real excited about it.”

“You know, ‘Make It Sweet’ is a good launching point for that album,” Matthew adds. “It sets the tone for the album, so, like he said, we’re all very excited about this music for sure.”

OD’s set to launch their Make It Sweet Tour Friday, January 18 in Chicago.
