Kevin Sharp, who scored a hit in 1996 with “Nobody Knows,” has died.
Sharp’s website announced the singer died Saturday night of ongoing complications from past stomach surgeries and digestive issues. He was 43.
Sharp — who survived a battle with a rare form of bone cancer after he was diagnosed while in high school — earned a #1 country hit in 1996 with “Nobody Knows,” a cover of a song by R&B artist Tony Rich. It was off his debut album, Measure of a Man, which also featured the singles “She’s Sure Taking It Well” and “If You Love Somebody.”
Sharp later released two more studio albums: 1998’s Love Is and 2005’s Make a Wish.
A memorial service is being planned in Nashville. More information will be announced on Sharp’s website in the near future.
