ABC/Mark LevineWith the new Deluxe edition of his yuletide album, Glow, available this holiday season, Brett Eldredge is busier than ever this December. But come Christmas Day, you can bet Brett will be back home celebrating with his beloved dog, Edgar.

“We’ve had two now, I think, where we go back home to Illinois,” he recalls, “which is exciting because he gets to run out in the country and go crazy.”

Brett confesses the loveable Edgar has had a run-in or two with a Christmas tree.

“You know, having a dog, you have to hang the bulbs for the tree not as low,” he explains, “so he doesn’t try to eat ’em, because he thinks they’re tennis balls or something.”

“That was a little bit of a problem in the beginning when I first got ornaments and stuff,” Brett admits. “But now he’s pretty well-trained.”

“So, just trying not to let him terrorize Christmas too much,” he adds. ” But I love him anyway, so it’s all good.”

On Monday, Brett will sing “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Silver Bells” on the annual CMA Country Christmas special, which starts at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Then on Tuesday, he’ll do “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Glow” on NBC’s Today show.

Brett will also be back on ABC for Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade on December 25.

In the meantime, you can check out his new video for “The First Noel” on YouTube.
