Pawnee Mental Health Services is requesting Riley County nearly double its funding to the organization as it deals with uncompensated care costs.

The organization is seeking $654,048 in county funds for 2027 operations, an increase of $304,048 from 2026’s appropriation of $350,000.

Pawnee CEO Mike Rezkalla made his pitch to commissioners Thursday for the 87% increase.
