FORT RILEY — Fort Riley soldiers, Gold Star families and the surrounding community gathered to remember the fallen on Memorial Day. In attendance was U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall of Kansas’ 1st District, and Fort Riley Garrison Commander, Col. John Lawrence.

Each gave remarks to remember fallen Fort Riley soldiers, killed in conflicts since before the Civil War, and up to the present. They also thanked Gold Star families in attendance for their personal sacrifices and courage.
