A Roeland Park man entered a no contest plea Tuesday to two counts of misdemeanor battery in Pottawatomie County District Court in connection with an incident at Country Stampede this summer that ended with a victim life-flighted to a Topeka hospital.

Chance Stevenson, who had been set for a status hearing Tuesday, entered the plea, was found guilty and then sentenced to a six month underlying sentence. Stevenson is also to spend 72 hours in jail with probation for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay restitution, court costs and attorney fees.

Stevenson is also not allowed at the 2018 Country Stampede.

A co-defendant in the case, Benjamin Rowe of Mound City, received a similar sentence last week.
