The Riley County Law Enforcement Agency Board on Monday voted unanimously to renew RCPD’s application for a special alcohol fund grant to cover the salary and benefits of the jail’s reintegration coordinator position. Members Barry Wilkerson and Wes Maupin were not present.

The special alcohol fund is created by a portion of the state liquor tax and goes to local government agencies for programs addressing alcohol and drug abuse.

Riley County Police Department Maj. Mark French serves as the jail’s commander. During Monday’s meeting, he said the jail’s community reintegration coordinator has had a widespread positive impact throughout the facility.
