Image Courtesy Broken BowRandy Houser made an appearance on NBC’s The Voice Monday night to surprise contestant Craig Wayne Boyd during Boyd’s hometown visit to Nashville. Randy took time off from Dierks Bentley‘s Riser tour to fly from Canada to Music City to perform with Craig at the Wildhorse Saloon.

Randy says, “You know, I got up there and we actually sang a couple songs. We sang a couple songs of mine — ‘Boots On’ and ‘How Country Feels.’  And we had a blast and we ended up just getting a chance to hang out that night.  It was a great time.”

Craig has opened shows for Randy in the past, and Randy is proud to see his pal getting some recognition after years of paying his dues.

“It’s been incredibly cool to see a guy like Craig Wayne Boyd, who’s worked his tail off and deserves a shot at something really cool,” Randy says. “And this is an excellent way for him to get it on The Voice. I mean, I think it’s finally the platform that he needed for the rest of the country to see what he’s about.”
