Rascal Flatts is one of the most successful acts in country music history, but that doesn’t mean they’re super-human. The guys often have to eat on the go due to their crazy schedules, which means they’re prone to getting heartburn. That’s why the Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus describes their partnership with Nexium 24 Hour as “a perfect marriage.”
“We have the freedom to live life without hesitation [and] not worry about when we’re eating or what we’re eating,” Jay tells ABC News Radio. “We try to be as healthy as we can, but sometimes with our schedule, it doesn’t allow us to make the healthiest choices. So, with Nexium 24 Hour, it’s one less thing we have to worry about.”
The guys in Rascal Flatts aren’t picky eaters according to guitarist Joe Don Rooney, and Nexium gives them the freedom to eat what they want when they want it.
He says, “We love food. There’s no doubt about it from Italian food to — love pizza, love hot dogs. We get a little American-style food, too. Hamburgers and stuff.”
Of course, the Flatts sometimes need heartburn relief after tipping back a few cocktails.
Jay says with a laugh, “It also helps if you’re hitting the vodka hard, too. You know what I mean? Get that burn going down your esophagus.”
On the music front, Rascal Flatts is climbing the country chart with their latest single, “Payback,” from their current album, Rewind.
