Emergency crews assisted a medical helicopter in landing in the area of the intersection of 4th Street and Bluemont Ave. after a single vehicle collision. Police began investigating this collision on Saturday night. Officers found that a 2003 Chevy van, driven by 39-year-old Eldred Borg, of Alta Vista, collided with a tree after losing control and leaving the roadway while traveling north on 4th Street. Due to injuries sustained, Borg was transported by air to Topeka for medical treatment. Her current condition is unknown.

Another collision report was filed Saturday morning near the intersection of Anderson Ave. and Garden Way Drive. Police filed this report after a 2005 Chevy Cobalt, driven by 27-year-old Kassandra Love, of Wamego, collided with a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by 20-year-old Heath Bowie, of Manhattan. This collision occurred as the Chevy Cobalt was turning onto Garden Way from Anderson. As a result of this collision, a 2010 GMC Terrain, driven by 62-year-old Beth Hurst, of Junction City, was struck while waiting to turn onto Anderson from Garden Way. Riley County EMS transported Love to Via Christi Hospital for the complaint of pain.

A collision report was filed near the intersection of Hayes Drive and McCall Road in Manhattan on early Thursday morning. Officers filed this report after a 1993 Chevy truck, driven by 18-year-old Manhattan man Coleman Huey, collided with 37-year-old Manhattan man Cory Shoemaker, who was on a bicycle. Shoemaker was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Riley County EMS for treatment. A citation was issued to Huey for the violation of unsafe passing on the left.

 

A 60-year-old Overland Park man was arrested Friday night.  William Pugh was arrested on the offenses of possession of opiates, opium, narcotic drugs or certain stimulants and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.  Pugh was given a bond of $10,000 and at the time of this report was not confined at the Riley County Jail.

RCPD arrested 30-year-old Rosa Madrigal-Torres, of Turlock, California Saturday.  Madrigal-Torres was arrested while in the 5500 block of Skyway Drive in Manhattan on the offense of distribution of heroin or certain stimulants and given a bond of $20,000. At the time of this report, she was confined at the Riley County Jail.

 

Officers with RCPD arrested 27-year-old Manhattan man Emmanuel Dani on Thursday morning.  Dani was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on the offenses of failure to appear with original offenses of intimidation of a witness or victim and theft of property lost or mislaid. He was given a total bond of $16,000 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.

35-year-old Kyle Butler, of Ogden, was arrested on Friday. Butler was arrested on the offense of aggravated battery while in the 2100 block of Fort Riley Blvd. He was given a bond of $5,000 and transported to the Riley County Jail. Also arrested at the same time and location was 35-year-old Ogden man Steven Rochin. Rochin was arrested on the offenses of aggravated battery and aggravated assault which gave him a bond of $10,000. These arrests stemmed from a physical altercation and the brandishing of a knife. Officers listed the victims as 22-year-old Dominic Libeatore, 21-year-old John Collins, and 22-year-old Joseph Amato, all of Manhattan. At the time of this report both of those arrested were not confined at the Riley County Jail.
