Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a report of an aggravated battery in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road Sunday evening just before 8:30. The call was domestic in nature and involved a knife. Candy George, 48, of Manhattan was placed under arrest with bond set at $10,000.
And officers responded to a report of a fight in progress in the 600 Block of North 12th Street in Manhattan early Saturday morning. Corey George, 27, of Junction City was arrested for two counts of battery to a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct, with bond set at $5,000. Also arrested during this incident was Matthew Tomczak, 21, of Fort Riley for one count of Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer and Disorderly Conduct. His bond was listed as $1,500.
A Bennington man faces a couple of charges and a $30,000 bond following his arrest the end of last week. Monday’s Riley county Police activity report indicates Jason Ludecke, 38, was taken into custody for failing to appear in Riley County District Court and on a warrant related to violations of the Kansas offender registration act. The original offense for the FTA was listed as distribution of heroin.
Also arrested this past weekend was Stuart Ostrom, 28, of Manhattan while in the 500 block of Fort Riley Boulevard in Manhattan Sunday evening. Ostrom’s listed offenses include Driving with a Suspended License and Driving while a Habitual Violator. Bond was set at $6,000.
And Wanda Silva, 39, of Westmoreland was arrested late Friday afternoon on a Riley County District Court Warrant for Probation Violation. Bond was listed as $5,000.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had previously been reported as stolen in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard Saturday night at approximately 11:37 PM. Kenneth Johnson, 21, of Manhattan was subsequently arrested for the offenses of Possession of Stolen Property and Driving with a Suspended License. HIs bond was set at $5,000. The vehicle was a White 2009 Toyota Camry valued at approximately $10,000. The vehicle had previously been reported as stolen on August 21st in the 300 block of North 9th Street in Manhattan.
And a report of a theft was filed in the 300 block of Hunter Place in Manhattan Saturday morning. Melissa Gamino, 34, of Manhattan told police several pieces of miscellaneous furniture were taken from inside her residence. The furniture was valued at approximately $3,600. No arrests have been made at the time of this report, however, the incident continues to be under investigation.
