Riley County Police have announced early Wednesday morning they’ve concluded the investigation into a battery report involving members of the Manhattan High School football team this past October.
The case will be submitted to the Riley county Attorney’s office for a determination on charges. In addition to the original battery offense, a supplemental report has been completed for endangering a child and contributing to a child’s misconduct.
The early morning announcement comes just a few hours before the Wednesday night USD 383 School Board meeting, which is expected to determine Coach Joe Shartz’s fate.
