Authorities responded to a pair of burglaries in Manhattan on Tuesday.

The Riley County Police Department says a suspect broke into the Short Stop convenience store on South Port Drive by climbing through the drive-thru window and stealing cigarettes. A short time later, police arrested 31-year-old Mingo Pasillas, of Manhattan on charges of aggravated burglary. He’s currently being held in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Officers also investigated a break-in reported at the Dairy Queen on Anderson Avenue. Police say a suspect broke a window to get inside and attempted to open a safe, causing an estimated $1,200 in damage.

Anyone with information on the Dairy Queen burglary is urged to call Riley County Police or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
