Riley County police are investigating two separate cases of check fraud reported Saturday in Manhattan.
The first incident was reported by an 84-year-old man who told police someone stole a check, altered it and forged another, leading to losses of more than $8,400.
A little more than an hour later, officers took a second report at Fidelity State Bank and Trust, after a 77-year-old man reported a stolen check was cashed, causing losses of over $2,300.
Police ask anyone with information to contact the Riley County Police Department or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
