Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of 3rd and Vattier in Manhattan on October 13, 2019, at approximately 7:30 PM. When officers arrived on scene, they found 2001 white Chevrolet Cruze driven by Jose Fernandez, 18, of Manhattan, turned and was struck by a 2003 white Chevrolet C25 pickup driven by Taylor Gropp,18, of Concordia. Fernandez was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way making a left turn. Fernandez was transported to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries.
