The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd. and N. 48th St. in Manhattan on December 28, 2020, at approximately 7:31 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Alyssa Johnson, 21, of Milford had flipped into the ditch. Johnson was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka via Life Star for treatment of her critical injuries.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 3400 block of Chimney Rock Rd. in Manhattan on December 28, 2020, at approximately 9:20 a.m. Officers listed a 79-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a gold necklace. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 2100 block of Little Kitten Ave. in Manhattan on December 28, 2020, at approximately 2:36 p.m. Officers listed a 23-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 25-year-old male suspect failed to finalized payment for a vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $11,000.00.

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 500 block of N. Juliette Ave. in Manhattan on December 28, 2020, at approximately 5:09 p.m. Officers listed a 42-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his residence without permission and stole a Winchester 20 gauge pump shotgun, a Smith & Wesson 9mm, a Ruger 357 Magnum, AR-15, and P95 9mm, a Glock .40 caliber, a Bond Firearms derringer-style handgun, a Springfield .45 caliber, a Remington 742 Woodmaster 30.06 caliber rifle, a 12 gauge pump shotgun, an Ontario Knife Company delta bowie 15-inch knife, ammunition, a black iPhone, a gold ring, multiple collectible watches, and cash. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $9,720.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 6000 block of Tuttle Ter. in Manhattan on December 28, 2020, at approximately 6:35 p.m. Officers listed a 50-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 66-year-old male suspect stole her white 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1890.00.

Officers filed a report for domestic criminal damage to property in Manhattan on December 29, 2020, at approximately 12:53 a.m. Officers listed a 27-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 28-year-old male suspect damaged a 55-inch Vizio television, an HP desktop monitor, and a Playstation 4 console. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900.00. At 1:03 a.m. on December 29, 2020,  Jesus Valle was arrested for one count of criminal damage to property and three counts of domestic battery from a previous case in which Valle had a warrant in his name. Valle was issued a total bond of $3,500.00 and is confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
