A report for burglary and other offenses was filed in the 200 block of 12th Street in Ogden, Kansas on January 31, 2016 and police made an arrest the following day. Officers arrested William Weber, 26, of Berryton, Kansas on the offenses of theft by deception, making false information, and criminal use of a financial card. Weber was arrested while in the 200 block of 12th Street on February 1, 2016 at approximately 12:00 PM. He was given a bond of $10,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Police found that several charges were placed on a financial card that Weber was not authorized to use. These purchases occurred at Wal-Mart, Target, and Casey’s General Store and totaled an amount of over $1,000.00.


 

Duane Scardina, 59, of Randolph, Kan. was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a left turn following a collision at the intersection of Seth Child Road and Claflin Road on February 1, 2016 at approximately 7:45 AM. Police investigating the collision found that a 2007 GMC 2500, driven by Scardina, was traveling south on Seth Child Road and making a turn onto Claflin (eastbound) when it struck a 2016 Nissan Rogue, driven by Holly Johnson, 39, of Manhattan. During the collision, a 2001 Dodge Caravan was also struck (this vehicle was driven by Chad Waters, 38, of Manhattan). Waters was transported to Via Christi for a complaint of neck pain. Officers continue to investigate this collision.


 

RCPD is currently seeking information on a missing and considered stolen Atlas Air Compressor valued at approximately $7,000.00. This compressor was removed from the 600 block of Tuttle Street in Manhattan without its owner’s permission (Pavers Inc. of Salina, Kansas). Police ask that anyone with information on this stolen compressor contact RCPD directly or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers service where tipsters can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.


 

Jesse Perez, 50, of Burleson, Texas was arrested on February 1, 2016 at approximately 6:10 PM after making threats of violence toward three individuals (including a police officer of the Riley County Police Department). Perez was arrested for the offenses of criminal threat and battery of law enforcement officer (for spitting on a police officer who was making his arrest for criminal threat). Perez was given a bond of $10,000.00 in total and at the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.
