The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Fort Riley Blvd. and S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on May 17, 2021, at approximately 1:40 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2019 Ford Fusion driven by Brian Ehrler, 56, of Junction City cut off and struck a 2012 Hyundai Accent driven by Tina Artalona, 51, of Ogden. Artalona was transported to Via Christi for treatment of neck pain. Ehrler was issued a citation for passing on the right and driving in a close lane.
Officers filed a report for aggravated assault near the intersection of Moro St. and N. 11th St. in Manhattan on May 17, 2021, at approximately 7:04 p.m. Officers listed 22- and 23-year-old females and a 24-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect threatened them with a baseball bat.
