The Manhattan Fire Department was called out to an apartment fire in Manhattan Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of Marlatt Ave.

Upon arrival, crews found a two-story, eight unit apartment building with fire on the first floor. The fire was extinguished within five minutes. Residents were not home at the time and no injuries were reported. The two residents occupying the apartment were displaced as a result.

Loss is estimated at $40,000 including damage to the structure and contents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The owner of the property is listed as Country Meadows Residences, L.C.
