RCPDInvestigationOfficials with the Riley County Police Department announced an arrest for aggravated assault, Tuesday morning.

Aggravated assault, battery, and robbery along with criminal threat and conspiracy to commit attempted aggravated robbery are among crimes that led to the arrest.

Police arrested 21-year-old Jacob Sifford of Manhattan, Kansas for the offenses after an incident where he allegedly waved a gun and injured 22-year-old Andrew Kjellin, who received non-life threatening injuries in the scuffle.

Police say Kjellin took control of Sifford’s gun and in an attempt to protect himself fired the gun twice.

Police later made contact with Sifford as part of an area canvas.

The arrest was the result of an investigation that began in the 1000 block of N. 8th Street in Manhattan on March 6.

Sifford was given a bond of $50,000.00 and later released.

An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
