Riley County will hold its 2027 revenue-neutral rate and budget hearing Sept. 10, with the county’s proposed estimated tax rate exceeding the revenue neutral rate. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m.

Brittany Phillips, budget and finance officer, presented the notice of hearing to the Riley County commission. Commissioners unanimously approved publishing a notice of the hearing in The Manhattan Mercury.

The proposed estimated tax rate for 2027 is 38.012 mills, compared with a revenue neutral rate of 36.317 mills.
