Ronnie Milsap was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday night in Nashville at the organization’s annual Medallion Ceremony. Ronnie was on hand to accept the honor following tribute performances from Martina McBride on “(I’d Be) A Legend in My Time” and Hunter Hayes on “(There’s) Gettin’ Over Me.” Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill and R&B legend Sam Moore also teamed up to sing Ronnie’s 1985 hit, “Lost in the Fifties Tonight.”
Bluegrass pioneer Mac Wiseman and the late songwriter Hank Cochran were also inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday night. Alison Krauss saluted Hank with performances of his notable compositions “Make the World Go Away,” which was a hit for Eddy Arnold, and “Don’t Touch Me,” which won a Grammy for Hank’s former wife, Jeannie Seely, in 1966. Gene Watson covered Hank’s song “Don’t You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me,” and Charlie Daniels was on hand to sing Mac Wiseman’s song, “Jimmy Brown the Newsboy.”
The evening ended with Country Music Hall of Fame members Emmylou Harris, Randy Owen of Alabama, Charley Pride and Brenda Lee joining this year’s inductees and performers onstage to sing “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”
