Director of Public Works, Robert Ott spoke with City Commissioners during a Tuesday night work session, about a roundabout set to be installed at the intersection of Scenic Drive, Kimball Avenue and Anderson Avenue.

Ott shared general updates on the progress of the project with Commissioners and spoke about accepting construction bids within the next 60 days.

Several commissioner questions about financing were presented to Ott, but the largest concerns were pedestrian safety and size of the roundabout – in relation to semi-trucks making their way to Blueville nursery.

Projects to improve traffic aren’t the only things in the City’s pipeline, several primary project locations have been identified that will help reduce flooding in the city.
City Engineer Brian Johnson shared restuls from a recently completed Downtown Watershed Study with the commission.

The study revealed primary locations around the city like North Manhattan and Bluemont Avenues as spots that could benefit from watershed improvements.

Commissioners provided Johnson and city officials with feedback on priorities and alternatives along with questions and concerns as they realte to cost of services.
