BBR Music Group As the controversy swirls over some NFL players opting to take a knee during the national anthem in protest of racial injustice, Trace Adkins is weighing in with a new song.

The Louisiana native has long been a supporter of the USO, America’s men and women in uniform, and veterans, and the track “Still a Soldier” leaves no doubt where he is on the issue: “After church he’ll watch the game and have a beer or two. He’ll stand up when he hears the anthem, and that won’t ever change.”

“We recorded this song well over a year ago,” Trace says, “and my intent was always to release it as a tip of my hat to those who have served. For those who have crawled off the battlefield but still stand for the anthem… this is for you.”

“Still a Soldier” is available on Trace’s latest album, Something’s Going On. You can check out the song’s lyric video on YouTube now.
