Area law enforcement and Kansas Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism authorities took a suspect wanted on an out of county warrant into custody early Thursday afternoon in the River Pond area of Tuttle Creek Lake. Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat confirmed the individual fled early in the noon hour but was apprehended in about an hour.
Tuttle Creek State Park Manager Todd Lovin with Kansas Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism indicates he responded to River Pond at about 11:30 Thursday morning for a domestic type disturbance and found out one of the subjects involved had a warrant out for his arrest. A foot and water chase ensued, with the suspect swimming quite a distance before being apprehended a little more than an hour later.
