Ray Tamarra/GC ImagesRight before last week’s big Met Gala in New York City, Taylor Swift sent the fashion world into a tizzy by announcing on Twitter that her cat Meredith had “attacked” her custom Oscar de la Renta gown.  Now, she’s telling People magazine just what happened during the kitty vs. couture showdown.

“I’ve never seen more fashionable people lose their composure quicker than when a cat walks up to a satin, custom Oscar de la Renta gown and then decides to make a home inside of it,” she told People. “She just passed, dug her claws in and started to roll…like when you see a crocodile attack an antelope on National Geographic. That’s what she tried to do to the dress.”

But ultimately, Taylor says, Meredith didn’t do much damage.  Even though the cat “fancies herself as quite a hunter,” says Taylor, she adds, “She’s a chubby housecat. She’s not very strong!”

Taylor also said she got ready for the event with model pal Karlie Kloss.

“We were both wearing Oscar de la Renta, and we kind of shared a hair girl and got ready in a hotel room. It was so much fun getting ready with one of your best friends,” she says.   Karlie later told Us Weekly that Taylor threw a great after-party at her New York City apartment.

“We were all playing pool in our ball gowns, and just eating pizza and hanging out — just like you’d do at a teenage after-party,” said the model.
