As Parmalee’s third single, “Already Callin’ You Mine,” makes its way up the charts this week, the North Carolina band becomes the first group since The Band Perry to land three songs in a row from its debut album in the top ten.
Lead singer Matt Thomas says building on the success of “Carolina” and “Close Your Eyes” has meant that fans are finally getting a better picture of who the band, made up of two brothers, their cousin and a lifelong friend, really is.
“I think people are just recognizing us, our sound now — my voice, our harmonies, that kind of thing. It’s just cool to keep feeding people that. We really haven’t had any TV time, so people don’t really know who we are unless they’re fans who have dug into us. They can’t associate our faces with the name and the sound, but they’re starting to know, that’s Parmalee, that’s what they sound like,” he says. “It’s great to have people connecting with what we’re doing. It’s cool to see the song doing what it’s doing.”
Parmalee heads back out on the road for a January 22 date in St. Louis, Missouri, after taking some time off for the holidays.
