A toddler has died following a Monday fire in rural Dickinson County.
According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a structure fire in the 15 hundred block of 14 hundred Avenue, which is located south of Abilene. Upon arrival, they found the residence fully engulfed, with an adult male and a child outside. The male advised that a two-year-old male was missing and may be inside the residence.
The two-year-old was found deceased inside the residence after firefighters brought the blaze under control.
The office of the Kansas State Fire Marshal and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a joint investigation into the fire.
