Two drivers were transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on I-70 eastbound just south of the K-177 junction.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a 2024 Tesla, driven by 73-year-old Terry Roehr of Colorado Springs, was attempting to enter I-70 from the eastbound on-ramp at K-177 when the vehicle hydroplaned due to wet conditions. The Tesla collided with a pickup truck as it was spinning on the highway.

The pickup was driven by 16-year-old Sawyer Ibarra of Alma, Kansas. Both drivers were taken to Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan with possible injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
