This fall, Rhino will release the long-awaited The Complete Trio Collection, featuring rare outtakes and never-before-heard material from Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. You don’t have to wait that long, however, to experience a rare performance from the three legends.
Monday night, getTV airs the trio’s first television appearance together, from Dolly’s self-titled 1976 syndicated series. The icons harmonize together on three songs they recorded separately: Linda’s “Silver Threads and Golden Needles,” Emmylou’s “The Sweetest Gift,” and Dolly’s “Applejack.”
Fans of Dolly’s recent hit made-for-TV movie Coat of Many Colors may also want to tune in for the second episode of DOLLY that airs tonight. It features both of her parents, as well as her seven siblings, performing mountain classics like “In the Pines” and “In the Sweet By and By.” You can check out a preview of that show on YouTube now.
Both half-hours of the show air on getTV tonight starting at 9 p.m. ET.
