
A police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle began in Manhattan and ended with a rollover crash on Interstate 70.
The Riley County Police Department says dispatchers were notified around 1 p.m. Wednesday of a theft in the Walmart parking lot. It was determined the suspect involved in the theft was driving a stolen vehicle.
At around 1:45 p.m. officers began pursuing the stolen vehicle in the 1100 block of Pillsbury Drive. The driver led police onto I-70 at high rates of speed. Shortly before 2 p.m. the Kansas Highway Patrol became involved near the Geary/Riley County line
The pursuit ended after stop sticks were deployed. The driver continued on and flipped the vehicle near mile marker 318, about five miles east of the Manhattan exit.
Two individuals were taken into custody, without injury. Their names have not been released pending formal charges.
