A Wamego man was arrested Monday night after authorities said he barricaded himself inside a garage and injured three officers who were attempting to take him into custody.
The Wamego Police Department said officers, assisted by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, went to 703 Adam Drive at about 10 p.m. to serve an arrest warrant on Eric Walsh. Police said Walsh barricaded himself inside a garage behind the residence after being notified of the warrant.
Officers obtained a search warrant and entered the garage with sheriff’s deputies. Police said Walsh resisted arrest and battered three officers before he was taken into custody after officers used pepper spray and a Taser. The officers sustained minor injuries.
EMS evaluated Walsh before he was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail in Westmoreland.
Walsh was arrested on allegations of three counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault of law enforcement officers, interference with law enforcement officers and three counts of probation violation.
Walsh was being held without bond pending a court appearance on the warrants. Bond on the additional allegations was pending.
