A medical emergency is the apparent cause of a Wednesday auto collision near the intersection of Casement Road and Hayes Drive.

Police officials say the responded to the scene around 4 p.m., where a GMC Terrain driven by David O’Quinn had hopped a curb while making a left turn from Casement onto Hayes.

The GMC then drove through roadside grass before striking a Nissan Altima driven by Alexis Winter while waiting to turn. The force of the collision caused the Nissan to strike a Ford Econoline as well, occupied by Roxanne Harper.

O’Quinn is said to have experienced a medical emergency while driving, leading to the crash. He was brought to Ascension Via Christi Hospital for treatment of the emergency as well as a head injury sustained in the incident.
