ABC/Image Group LA Now that we know that Reba McEntire will co-host November’s CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton, it raises an interesting question: Could Reba still return to host the competing ACM Awards next spring?

“We haven’t confirmed our host yet for 2020,” a representative of the Academy of Country Music tells Billboard, without mentioning Reba specifically.

Billboard also cites an unnamed source as saying that “no deal is in place for [McEntire] to come back” and “nothing [is] determined yet.”

There’s no denying there are plenty of differences between the CMA and ACM: the Country Music Association is based in Nashville and calls ABC its TV home, while the Academy of Country Music is West-Coast-based and airs on CBS.

Still, things are mostly friendly.

Reba hosted the ACM Awards for the sixteenth time in April. She also hosted ABC’s CMA Country Christmas for the second year in a row the previous December. So far, we don’t know the details for 2019’s annual special either.

For now, what we do know is that we can see Reba, Dolly, and Carrie leading a female-focused 53rd CMA Awards Wednesday, November 13 on ABC.
