An intense Winter Storm system brewing in the Texas panhandle is expected to bring wintry weather to Northeast Kansas with the height of the storm expected to last Sunday night through Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the entire KMAN listening area from Noon CST Sunday through 6 p.m. CST Monday.

The forecast calls for mixed precipitation Sunday night to change to all snow by Monday and the area could see between three and five inches of snow with some locally higher amounts before the storm moves out on Monday night.
