The Kansas Department of Transportation is hosting a public open house to review recommendations for the improvement of the K-99 corridor from I-70 north to the Kansas River Bridge in Wamego in Wabaunsee County on Tuesday, May 3rd. The public is invited to drop by the open house-style meeting anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. that evening at the Wamego Area Senior Citizens Center at 501 Ash Street in Wamego.
KDOT and consultant staff will be on hand to answer questions about the project. There will be no formal presentations.
The K-99 Corridor received strong regional support during KDOT’s local consultation meetings held in 2010 when local leaders discussed regional transportation priorities. It was moved forward through the study phase, then approved for preliminary engineering design plans to provide short- and long-term proposed recommendations for improving K-99.
