ABC/Byron CohenIf you weren’t lucky enough to be able to come to Nashville in June, you can experience all the fun of CMA Music Festival tonight, in ABC’s annual recap of the biggest four days in country music. One major difference for 2016 is that longtime hosts Little Big Town have stepped aside to make way for Thomas Rhett and Brett Eldredge.

“I think they’re gonna be amazing,” the band’s Jimi Westbrook says. “They both really have great personalities and are great entertainers so it’s gonna be fun… It’s kinda strange not being here the whole week, but we’ve been out on tour, so it’s not like we’ve been very idle either,” he laughs. “This night is always so amazing, and such a big group of hardcore country music fans and it’s unlike any other experience we have all year long.”

Thomas Rhett is equally complimentary when it comes to taking over for the CMA Vocal Group of the Year.

“I think it’s kinda cool, how, just organically, we got picked to host this year,” TR says. “I remember watching… Little Big Town do it and just seeing how amazing they were and how organic it was for them. So for them to pass the torch to us has been an honor. And it’s been late nights, but it’s been a lot of fun doing it!”

You can evaluate Thomas and Brett’s abilities as masters of ceremonies, and catch Little Big Town performing with Pharrell Williams, tonight at 8 p.m. ET when CMA Music Festival:  Country’s Night to Rock airs on ABC.
