The Manhattan Fire Department responded to a house fire Tuesday night at 1420 Hillcrest Drive.

When they arrived, crews found visible smoke and flames and made an aggressive attack on the blaze. Firefighters rescued a dog from the home. Two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage, including $25,000 in structural damage.

A cause has not been determined.
